Guide for Guest Contributors

Aim: Our aim is for the Forum to be a meeting place for the mutual exchange of shared theological ideas about Christian social action. We are looking for contributions that are stimulating, thought-provoking and encouraging for CUF and our partners working in similar fields. We hope that the Forum will be “something that can be built on, added to, developed, critiqued over time. Where the theology is not set in stone but can flex according to context, audience, perspective, or critical moments. Something participatory, invitational, empowering. Dynamic and alive, challenging and open to challenge” (these words are from Bishop Adrian Newman’s introduction to the Forum)

Audience:  Your contribution will appear within the Living Theology Forum on CUF’s website, so it will be read by CUF’s wider audience of general supporters, clergy, organisations we partner with, and other people interested in our work.

Approach: We do not want to be too prescriptive about how guest contributors approach what they have to say, and we are looking to incorporate a range of different media and styles (written word, audio, video, etc). However, we are looking for contributions that will be as accessible as possible to the breadth of the audiences within CUF and beyond.

Content: Because many of our readers are social action practitioners, supporters, and clergy, we try to connect our content to practical action as much as possible. We encourage you to link your themes, thoughts and ideas to concrete issues and contexts as much as possible, rather than dwelling in the world of abstraction!

Length: We are very happy to accept contributions of varying lengths depending on theme and content, although 500 to 1500 words would be a rough guide.

Curation: Adam Edwards is curating the Forum and will be in touch to discuss any proposed editorial changes that may be necessary
